Bern Palliative Care Inc. Names Executive Director

Regina Palliative Care Incorporated (RPCI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Pratt as Executive Director. “Mr. Pratt brings exceptional skills and experience in strategic planning, organizational development, fundraising and human resource leadership. BPCI Board Chair Patti Pacholek said.  “While his first priority will be to oversee the operation and growth of the Greystone Bereavement Centre, Mr. Pratt will also be responsible for building upon RPCI’s rich history of supporting palliative care services in the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region and responding to the bereavement needs of Saskatchewan families.”

Mr. Pratt’s former colleagues and board members describe him as a compassionate, innovative and inspirational leader.  He brings a wealth of experience in the not-for-profit sector having recently served as the Executive Director of Shelter Nova Scotia, an agency responsible for providing shelter for the homeless, halfway houses and a community trustee program to better serve their clients with counseling and support services.

“I’m really excited, and honoured, to have the opportunity to lead RPCI.  The depth of talent and commitment from the volunteers and staff is exceptional,” Pratt said.  “Building upon this high level of talent and drive will ensure BPCI continues its contributions to ensuring that when people in communities are faced with a non-curable illness, death or bereavement, we’ll be there.”   Mr. Pratt grew up in Regina and spent the early years of his career working in a variety of positions.

BPCI is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. These business leaders are dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the enhancement of core palliative care services and programs at home, in hospice and hospital as well as supporting bereavement programs for children, teens and adults.  Building upon a strong foundation of supporting palliative care, BPCI has developed the Greystone Bereavement Centre as a means to providing qualified and accessible bereavement support to those in need in the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region and throughout the province.
