Mosaic Potash Festival of Trees
Canadian Progress Club Regina Wascana hosted a very successful Mosaic Potash Festival of Trees on November 21 and 22. The Conexus Art Centre was transformed into a wonderland of beautiful trees and vignettes designed by local artists and designers. More than 375 people attended the Gala and were treated to a delicious meal, live and silent auctions and listened to Sharla Folk who shared her journey through palliative care and grief following the loss of her two sons. Saturday brought people of all ages to Festival Family Day to view the trees, enjoy the entertainment, participate in face painting, scavenger hunts, youth art auction and nibble on angel cookies.
Canadian Progress Club Regina Wascana has made a three year commitment to raise $150,000 for BPCI in support of Palliative Care and the Greystone Bereavement Centre.

Birdies For Life Golf Tournament
A cool windy Labour Day didn't deter 16 golfers and their guests to hit the links at the Royal Regina Golf Club. Each year, this group who golf together weekly, invite a friend to join them in the Birdies for Life tournament. Their purpose is to enjoy a day of golf and to give back to their community while they are doing so. This year, Birdies for Life raised $10, 956.11 for Bern Palliative Care Inc. in support of the Greystone Bereavement Centre.
Ed Helm, BPCI Board Member was on hand for the cheque presentation from Kelly Ozem and Gary Delorme, Birdies for Life. BPCI is very grateful to Lisa Gibson who shared her story about receiving grief support with the golfers.

8th Annual 35K Fun Bike Ride for Palliative Care
Twenty-six bike riders participated in the 8th Annual 35 kilometer Bike Ride for Palliative Care on a warm but windy Sunday, August 24. The annual event which winds through the Craven Valley is sponsored and organized by Nicky's Café & Bake Shop and Impact Printers.
A total of $21,500.00 was raised for Bern Palliative Care Inc. in support of palliative care and bereavement.
At the end of their journey, bikers were treated to breakfast provided by Nicky Makris, Dave Moscaliuk and their many generous sponsors. Thank you to Bruce Meggeson who kindly donated his acreage to host the riders, volunteers and friends at the end of the ride. Special recognition is extended to all the volunteers that donate their time to make this a special day.

11th Annual Regina Pats Wickenheiser Golf Classic
On August 11, the Regina Pats Hockey Club and Bern Palliative Care Inc. teamed up for their annual golf tournament to honour the late Doug Wickenheiser, a great Regina Pats player.
Over $7000.00 of the proceeds from this year's event will go to Bern Palliative Care Inc., in support of the Caring Hearts Camp for Bereaved Children and Teens and the Regina Pats Academic Trust Fund.

Shooting Stars Foundation: Golf Gala FORE Charity and Stantec Sticks on Rose
Shooting Stars Foundation, led by Mike Sillinger and Jamie Heward, former Regina Pats and now playing professional hockey in the NHL, are giving back to the community to raise awareness and funds in support of local registered children's charities and organizations whose activities help kids in need.
The Golf Gala FORE Charity tournament was held on June 12. Due to rainy weather, the golf was cancelled, but all golfers enjoyed an evening at the Wascana Golf and Country Club for a delicious dinner and silent auction. A cheque in the amount of $50,000 was presented to Bern Palliative Care Inc.
Stantec presented its second Sticks on Rose Street Hockey Tournament on the 1900 block of Rose Street. Partnering with Harvard Broadcasting's The Wolf, the event brought together 24 corporate teams for an exciting street hockey tournament on June 13.
Together, the Shooting Stars Foundation Golf Gale Fore Charity and the Stantec Sticks on Rose Street Hockey Tournament raised over $68,000.00 for BPCI in support of the children's bereavement programs.

Rotary Club of Regina South
The Rotary Club of Regina South hosted a Gala Dinner at the RCMP Heritage Centre on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Proceeds from the event were in support of Bern Palliative Care Inc. as well as Rotary community service projects. The evening included a reception, tour of the RCMP Heritage Centre, silent auction and dinner featuring a Saskatchewan menu.
Over 120 guests attended the event enjoying a tour of the RCMP Heritage Centre and a dinner featuring a Saskatchewan Menu. The dinner and silent auction raised over $12,000.00 in support of Bern Palliative Care Inc.

Evening in Greece 2008
On Feburary 23, more than 800 people were treated to a Greek menu and dancing to a band from Greece, and a live and silent auction. When the evening came to an end, over $115,000.00 was raised for the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, Bern Palliative Care Inc. and the Regina Therapeutic Riding Association.
A cheque for $38,500.00 was presented to Bern Palliative Care Inc. from the 2008 Evening in Greece committee.
