What we support...
Palliative Care Services Volunteers
Volunteers are an integral part of the Palliative Care Services team.
They provide companionship, social and emotional support and comfort measures to patients and families in acute care and home care, as well as provide respite care and bereavement follow-up.
Specifically trained volunteers also participate in various activities on the Palliative Care Unit such as hosting family teas, baking fresh bread, assisting with pet therapy, or preparing a soup and biscuit lunch.
