Volunteer
Palliative Care Volunteers provide companionship, social and emotional support, and comfort measures to patients and families in acute care and home care, and as well, provide respite care and bereavement follow-up. As a volunteer, you may also participate in various activities and events on the Palliative Care Unit such as hosting family teas, baking oven fresh bread, preparing a soup and biscuit lunch, or assisting with pet therapy.
As a volunteer with the Greystone Bereavement Centre, you may assist in facilitating grief groups or assist with Caring Hearts Camp which is a week-end camp for children and teens who have experienced the recent loss of a family member. Help is needed with clerical duties including the Conexus Resource Library at the Greystone Bereavement Centre.
Volunteers are needed to help with RPCI's fundraising efforts and events such as the Good Mourning Walk and Tour de Lumsden.
